THE WFH DEBATE

WFH

The WFH debate rumbles on. Perhaps it always will!

During Covid, one of the most talked about subjects online was WFH.

The hilarities of ‘you’re on mute’ and people being turned into cats on Zoom calls.

The benefits of parents suddenly enjoying more freedom and time with the kids.

The time and money saved from avoiding the commute.

The challenges of loneliness, and communication.

I, like many other women, started my business nearly two decades ago, with one of the reasons being I wanted to work from home.

So I was already doing it, albeit without the amazing technology we have now.

The fact is, WFH makes so many jobs more accessible to mothers, who may previously have found it impossible to stay in their senior roles.

Many businesses are thriving on WFH models. It does mean investing in making opportunities like team building, communications, and essential meetings really count.

But the benefits can include improved employee wellbeing and productivity and a wider and more diverse talent pool.

I personally therefore hope that remote working continues to be supported, wherever possible.
